I love my family!

I have a fairly small immediate family but a large extended family.  I think of family as almost anyone that I know how we are related – I actually do know some 3rd cousins.  Obviously, I am closer to some than others but we’re all family.  I am heading out soon to Cincinnati, Ohio to see some family and hoping to meet some newly found members of our family.  I’m excited at the thought of working on my family history and genealogy with some of my cousins.  I’ll do most anything for family.  I think the most difficult day – albeit a fun day – was last year in January.  I met up with my 2nd cousin Liam, from Dublin, who I met in Cincinnati and we went to visit our Aunt’s and my grandparents’ graves.  It was a very cold day!  It was about -20°F – so cold the Ohio river was freezing!  The first grave we went to find was the hardest by far.  We must have looked for almost an hour and uncovered many many graves in search of but eventually we found it!  My friend, Adrienne, tagged along up until the point of actually going out in the cold and snow – smart woman.

1st picture is the freezing river with the ferry I used to take most every day my first year of college, 2nd is of Adrienne and Liam, 3rd is the line of graves uncovered by us – we were searching by date, and the 4th is our aunt’s gravestone.  I miss her, she was a fantastic person!
